Our Waterproof Wall Anchoring Solutions
OUR COMMITMENT TO WATERPROOFING INTEGRITY:
TileWare’s patented PermaTile™ Rough-in waterproof wall anchors, rigorously tested by the Tile Council of North America (TCNA), revolutionize accessory mounting in tile showers, steam showers, and wet rooms. Traditional penetrating anchors—plastic toggles, hollow-wall anchors, or mollys—breach waterproofing membranes, allowing water to intrude into the interior wall cavities of homes. Drywall, which is composed of paper (cellulose, a known food source), particularly when penetrated with Schluter KERDI membrane systems, provides a food source for actinobacteria, fueling mold and bacterial growth that leads to catastrophic failure, health hazards, and costly liabilities. Worse, anchors that penetrate void manufacturers’ waterproofing warranties and expose stakeholders to costly repairs and legal risks. PermaTile™’s mortar-based solution eliminates these risks, ensuring robust, compliant installations that meet ANSI A118.10 and building code standards, while protecting the entire project community from catastrophic water damage.
TCNA TESTED:
PermaTile’s™ is the industry’s only TCNA-tested, mortar-based mounting system, designed to preserve the integrity of waterproofing membranes over solid wall substrates. Compatible with liquid, sheet, or preformed (foam) substrates like Schluter KERDI, Laticrete HYDRO BAN, and wedi Fundo Building Panels.
3 WATERPROOF WALL ANCHORING OPTIONS:
PermaTile’s™ Surface Anchors
Integrate on the surface of waterproof tile substrates with modified thinset adhesive and tile. Our precision-welded stainless steel surface anchors unify these materials into a load-bearing structure—comparable to rebar in cement. Surface anchors distribute mechanical loads across multiple square-inch adhesive points. This ensures compliance with ANSI A118.10, which prevents membrane breaches, water intrusion, actinobacteria proliferation (biofilms), and warranty violations. Surface anchors streamline workflows, reduce liability, and foster collaboration, delivering peace of mind for all stakeholders. Surface anchors provide unprecedented reliability and performance for mounting metal accessories in tile showers.

PermaTile’s™ Structural "Z" Anchors
Incise into tile board substrates and mechanically fasten to studs or blocking (wood or metal) meeting national building code standards, after which is patched with thinset and a collared membrane gasket (or liquid membrane). Our precision-welded stainless steel structural "Z" anchors are flanged for 1/2" thick substrates and equipped with 3/16" mounting holes for mechanical fastening to the building structure (with stainless steel screws provided). Each structural "Z" anchor is designed with a flange hole pattern that lies on the tile board substrate, allowing thinset to pass through and unify materials into a load-bearing structure—comparable to rebar in cement. Using an A118.10 membrane gasket made with 2 outside layers of polypropylene (PP) fleece and a flexible collar (core) made from polyurethane (PU). Gasket is bonded using latex-modified (polymer-modified) Portland cement thinset mortar that complies with ANSI A118.4 (or the higher-performance ANSI A118.15 for improved modified dry-set mortar) to the substrate. Optionally use an A118.10 liquid membrane. Structural "Z" anchors streamline workflows, reduce liability, and foster collaboration, delivering peace of mind for all stakeholders. Structural "Z" Anchors provide unprecedented reliability and performance for mounting handshowers, slide bars, grab bars, seats, and shower doors in tile showers.

PermaTile’s™ Plate Anchors
Can be customized for any device mounting application in waterproof shower systems. Plate anchors bond and mechanically fasten to studs or blocking (wood or metal) to meet national building code standards. Stainless steel standoffs with internal threads are epoxied into precisely machined acrylic solid surface components featuring the customer’s desired toggling pattern. Plates are aligned using laser levels, adhered with SMP (Silyl-Modified Polymer) adhesive, and mechanically fastened to the building structure with the stainless steel screws provided. A non-woven fleece top surface allows thinset bonding of an ANSI A118.10 sheet membrane or liquid membrane. Plate anchors streamline workflows, reduce liability, and foster seamless device integration—delivering peace of mind for all stakeholders. They provide unprecedented reliability and performance for mounting devices in tile-related areas such as showers, bathrooms, commercial kitchens, medical facilities, and healthcare environments—anywhere water migration or seepage could create toxic health and safety risks.
